unlock iOS 5.1 and ultrasn0w fixer for 5.1

Those people who rely on software unlock ultrasn0w to unlock their devices.

keep this in mind

1- do not update from iOS downloaded from iTunes or it will update your baseband resulting in permanent locking of your phone……(you can use it as iPod touch then)

2-if you want to update… then download the ios 5.1 and Redsn0w, now create custom ipsw using Redsn0w so that your baseband could be preserved.. make sure that you update via iTunes only with the custom ipsw you have created with Redsn0w which has No_BB in the begninnging….

3- Now once your are done updating your iphone, then its time to jailbreak using Redsn0s or Snowbreeze. but this is only for non A-5 devices. that means iPhone 4s, the new iPad cant be done using this.
4- now once your are done jailbreaking…  then do the unlock

before we get started, you’ll want to make sure your handset is on one of the following basebands: 01.59.00, 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.13.01, 05.12.01, 06.15.00. You can check this by going to Settings > General > About > Modem Firmware.

But Ultrasn0w cant unlock iOS 5.1 as it has some flaws… so do the following.

Step 1. Ultrasn0w Fixer isn’t in a default repo, so you’ll have to add it. To do this, open up Cydia > Manage > Sources > Edit > Add, and type in the following URL:http://repo.iparelhos.com.
Step 2. Once the repo is done loading, search Cydia for Ultrasn0w Fixer. Locate it and install it like a typical package.
Step 3. After the Fixer is done installing, you need to grab the latest version of Ultrasn0w. This is in a default repo, so all you have to do is search for and install it.

thank me for that now!

you can try ultrasn0w to unlock it.

Downgrade Baseband 6.15.00 to 5.13.04 and unlock with ultrasn0w

UPDATE- YOU NEED TO USE SN0WBREEZE 2.9.3 for creating ipsw with ipad baseband on iOs 5.1 on windows.

First of all lets be clear that this method will only work for iPhone 3G with bootloader version 5.08 (5.8)! Otherwise, you can consider this.
You can quickly check your bootloader version by using TinyUmbrella. It should show your bootloader version right away. Alternatively, you can also use f0recast. The screenshot below shows an iPhone 3G with bootloader version 5.9.

FOR THIS THING TO WORK, YOU SHOULD HAVE UGRADED YOUR IPHONE TO IPAD BASEBAND 6.15.00 FIRST, IF NOT THEN GO TO THIS POST AND DO IT….

UPGRADE TO IPHONE BASEBAND

Lets F*** that unlock…
You need!

  1. Jailbroken iPhone 3G
  2. Fuzzyband – install this from Cydia
  3. afc2add – install this from Cydia
  4. i-Funbox – a file explorer for iPhone, Mac users can use DiskAid
  5. 6.15.00 certificate (ICE2-06.15.00.cert) for Fuzzyband

Steps:

  1. Launch Fuzzyband after installing the app via Cydia.
  2. Connect your iPhone to the computer.
  3. Launch i-FunBox and select File, then go to Applications/Fuzzyband.app, right-click and then select Copy from PC.
  4. Copy ICE2-06.15.00.cert you have downloaded earlier to this location
  5. Go back to Fuzzyband and you can now begin the downgrade process. If the downgrade is successfully, you should see “I Haz Downgrade”
  6. You can now unlock it with ultrasn0w and solve your GPS issueerror during restore etc.

if you have done everything alright, you should be able to use your phone…

HOPE I HELPED….

preserve your baseband and update with the custom ipsw.

how to do it?
1- Download Redsn0w’s latest version available
2- go to extras or option other than jailbreak
3- choose create ipsw or custom ipsw.
4- create the ipsw and use that created ipsw with iTunes to restore normally
5- Done!

JUST A TIP

AVOID UPDATING TO 5.1 just for fun if you rely on unlock or if you want tethered jailbreak.
Please read it carefully

  • Soon after 5.1 appears on Apple’s public servers (i.e. iTunes starts to offer it), Apple will stop signing 5.0.1 SHSH blobs.
  • If you have an iPhone4S, the basic rule above is really the only rule:  you cannot restore back to 5.0.1 once the 5.0.1 signing window is closed, no matter what (even if you saved your SHSH blobs).
  • If you have an iPad2 with saved 4.x hashes, you can in fact downgrade to that 4.x but you won’t be able to get to 5.0.1 once the 5.0.1 signing window is closed (even if you saved your 5.0.1 SHSH blobs).
  • If you have a device earlier than the iPad2, you can downgrade to whatever version you want, as long as you have saved SHSH blobs for that version.  You’ll need the assistance of geohot’s limera1n exploit with tools like redsn0w to get into “pwned DFU mode” and bypass the downgrade restriction.

  • UPdate
  • Update #1:  First, please read and re-read the above warnings!  With all of that in mind, we realize that some of you non-A5 jailbreakers are itching to get to 5.1, even though there seems to be no compelling new feature there. Because of geohot’s limera1n exploit, those with devices earlier than the iPad2 can test the 5.1 jailbreak waters if they really want to, using redsn0w 0.9.10b6.  Here’s what you need to know:
    • This is a *tethered* 5.1 jailbreak for non-A5 devices.  You’ll need to use redsn0w to “Just Boot” your device every time it power cycles, otherwise jailbreak apps won’t work (neither will Safari).
    • If you use ultrasn0w for your carrier unlock, be sure to use a custom IPSW to get to 5.1 first!  Don’t ever restore to a stock Apple IPSW!  Use redsn0w’s “Custom IPSW” button to create a NO_BB_* version of the 5.1 IPSW and restore to that instead of the stock one.  (That option is available only to 3GS and iPhone4-GSM owners.)  ultrasn0w itself will be updated for 5.1 in the next few days (same baseband support, not 5.1’s baseband).
    • If you’re lucky enough to have an old-bootrom 3GS, this jailbreak is actually untethered (redsn0w will figure that part out automatically).
    • While we were at it, we added @pod2g’s steaks4uce exploit to support MC models of the iPod touch 2G (whose last firmware was 4.2.1).  So now redsn0w will auto-detect and jailbreak both MB and MC versions of that older device.
    • iBooks won’t work until a future update of redsn0w

iOS 5.1 jailbreak for Non A5 devices

The iPhone Dev-Team has released a tethered iOS 5.1 jailbreak for non-A5 devices.

Those with devices earlier than the iPad2 can test the 5.1 jailbreak waters if they really want to, using redsn0w 0.9.10b6. We strongly suggest that you read this warning before you consider doing this.

Details:
● This is a *tethered* 5.1 jailbreak for non-A5 devices. You’ll need to use redsn0w to “Just Boot” your device every time it power cycles, otherwise jailbreak apps won’t work (neither will Safari).
● If you use ultrasn0w for your carrier unlock, be sure to use a custom IPSW to get to 5.1 first!
● If you’re lucky enough to have an old-bootrom 3GS, this jailbreak is actually untethered (redsn0w will figure that part out automatically).
● While we were at it, we added @pod2g’s steaks4uce exploit to support MC models of the iPod touch 2G (whose last firmware was 4.2.1). So now redsn0w will auto-detect and jailbreak both MB and MC versions of that older device.
● iBooks won’t work until a future update of redsn0w

Download your Redsn0w from Here for Mac

and here for windows

so if you have reached this far, then I assume that you know how to jailbreak.

or just simply open Redsn0w and follow the instructions.
