Well to shock all of us, Apple released iOS 4.3.5 out of nowhere….

but BEWARE! ….

it does not add any functionality to your device except destroying your jailbreak and locking your iPhone (if you depend on jailbreak and software unlock)

This update applies to:

• iPhone 4 (GSM model)
• iPhone 3GS
• iPad 2
• iPad
• iPod touch (4th generation)
• iPod touch (3rd generation)

If you are non-jailbroken, you can go ahead and update but if you are on iOS 4.3.3  you shouldn’t update to iOS 4.3.5 if you want to keep your untethered jailbreak.

This only updates the security issue in the previous verison.

How to Jailbreak iOS 4.2 GM on iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G and iPod touch with Redsn0w 0.9.6b2

Apple has seeded the final GM release of iOS 4.2 to developers. The recently released Redsn0w 0.9.6b2 (based on Geohot’s Limera1n) can jailbreak all of the current iOS devices on iOS 4.2. This has also been confirmed by MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team.

So if you are feeling adventurous, you can give Redsn0w 0.9.6b2 a go on iOS 4.2 GM release. Supported devices are:

• iPhone 4
• iPhone 3GS
• iPhone 3G
• iPad
• iPod touch 4G / 3G / 2G

Follow the instructions posted below to jailbreak iOS 4.2 GM release with Redsn0w 0.9.6b2.
NOTE: All iPhone unlockers MUST STAY AWAY from iOS 4.2 until new version of Ultrasn0w unlock is available.
Step 1: Download iOS 4.2 & iOS 4.1 (required for Redsn0w 0.9.6b2) for your version of iOS device.
Step 2: Update to iOS 4.2 firmware using the IPSW file you just downloaded via iTunes 10.1 Beta 2.
Step 3: Start Redsn0w 0.9.6b2 and point it to iOS 4.1 (Final Version, NOT iOS 4.2) to proceed with the jailbreak.

 Step 4: Now select “Install Cydia” and click “Next”. Optionally (if available), you can also select any other option you like.

 Step 5: Now make sure your device is both OFF and PLUGGED IN to the computer before you click “Next”.

At this stage you will be presented with a screen where you will have to quickly hold “Power” button and then while holding the “Power” button, you will now have to hold “Home” button too. Now after few seconds release “Power” button but keep holding “Home” button until installation begins.

Step 6: Sit back and enjoy while redsn0w will do all the rest for you. Once done, your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

will restart automatically and you will find it jailbroken on the latest iOS 4.2 firmware.
UPDATE 1: Ok here is a little update. I have just tried to jailbreak iPad on 4.2 by pointing Redsn0w to iOS 3.2.2 and it didn’t work. So except for the iPad, Redsn0w jailbreak on iOS 4.2 is working fine on all iPhones and iPod touches .

UNLOCK IPHONE -after jailbareaking

So now if you have a jailbroken iphone now

the first thing you should do is now to UNLOCK IT.

Step 1-
Make sure that your iphone is JAILBROKEN, if not then

Step 2-
Run Cydia on your iphone

go to manage option and then clik on MANAGE SOURCES, then

Please add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia . That last “o” is actually the number zero “0”! If you use the letter “o” you’ll get an error.
or it could already be in the Installed by package sources.

Step 4-
install ultrasn0w and reboot…

VOILA
your iphone is unloced

WARNING: Even though the GeoHot jailbreak supports 3.1.2 do not update if you are on iPhone OS 3.0.1 or 3.0. You will lose your unlock. Use PwnageTool to safely update to 3.1 without performing a baseband update. If you really must have 3.1.2 then wait for the next version of PwnageTool. If you have already updated to 3.1 or 3.1.2 without using PwnageTool then you’ve lost the ability to unlock for the time being. You can now use BlackRa1n to at least regain your jailbreak 🙂

Step One
Open your web browser of choice and navigate to http://www.blackra1n.com. Click the Windows logo at the bottom of the screen.

Step Two
When prompted save the download to your desktop

run the software blackra1n.exe

Make sure your iPhone or iPod is connected to the computer then click the large make it ra1n button

STEP 5
You iPhone will now be placed in recovery mode.
STEP 6

your iphone screen should look like this

then it should say “done, wait for reboot”.

STEP 8

Voila, you are done when this messege show.

Once your device reboots it will be jailbroken and you will notice a blackra1n icon on the desktop. Make sure you have an internet connection and press to launch the application.

Choose the installer application of your choice then press the Install button at the top right of the screen

BlackRa1n will begin to download and install the package you selected.

this will only jailbreak your iphone but not unlock it…

so the question is

Why i or you have to pay 3.99 euro for this app?

A: Mainly, because apple didn’t want to include a full bluetooth stack to be used by the developers. Implementing a complete and stable stack (with all the bluetooth profiles) is nearly impossible for me in a short time, so i’ve considered the idea of buying a complete (and well-tested) stack. Now, there are only 3 stack that supports almost all bluetooth profiles: BlueMagic, BCHS, ClarinoxBlue and, of course, all of these are VERY EXPENSIVE.
So, i’ve decided to make you pay* this application, so i can buy one of those stack for ALL the community and implement a background daemon that will provide a full-featured stack for ANY developer out there.

Please, understand that the “free way” is not the right way. If you want this application “for free” then take the “a cracked version”, but you’re essentially removing yourself the possibility to have more features, such as: A2DP (Audio stereo), Serial Port (needed for bluetooth gps), DUN & LAP (internet navigation), implemented in a small time and used by all of the developer out there: think at navigation apps adding support for bluetooth gps devices or other free developers adding bluetooth functionality to native apps like contacts, photos… or any other infinite idea that developer can have!
And, yes, writing a complete stack is always possible, but how much do you think it will take? Look, i’ve spent 3 month only for the obex part… and that’s a small part: it’s just one (ONE) profile out of 27!

So, think about it!
